“The only thing new in the world is the history you don’t know.”
– Harry S Truman
At our school, we love travelling back in time!
In History, we become detectives. We ask questions, explore clues and find out what life was like in the past. We learn about exciting periods in history and discover how people lived, worked and changed the world.
We follow a special history programme from Plan Bee, which helps us build our knowledge step by step as we move through school. Each year, we learn new topics and develop our skills as historians.
We learn how to:
We bring history to life with fantastic experiences!
We visit museums in Manchester where we can see real artefacts from the past and explore exciting exhibitions. Seeing history up close helps us understand it even better.
We also have special visitors in school — including Roman workshops where we can handle artefacts, learn about Roman soldiers and discover what life was like in Roman times. It feels like stepping back in time!
One of our favourite parts of History is exploring artefacts. We love holding objects from (or like) the past and using them to work out clues about how people lived.
History at our school is exciting, interactive and full of discovery. Every lesson helps us understand how the past has shaped the world we live in today.
“History is fun because it feels like solving a mystery. You have to look at clues and work things out!”
“I loved going to the museum in Manchester because we saw real artefacts. It made me feel like a real historian.”
“The Roman workshop was amazing! I liked holding the artefacts and learning how soldiers lived.”
“History helps me understand why things are the way they are today.”
