Year 3

In Year 3, we have an exciting year of learning and discovery ahead!

This term, we’ve been travelling back in time in history to explore life from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. We’ve learned how early humans lived, hunted, and built homes and how their tools and ways of life changed over thousands of years. We have enjoyed investigating what daily life might have been like, comparing it to how we live today.

In Art, we’ve been developing our sketching skills, learning how to use shading, line, and texture to bring our drawings to life. We especially enjoyed sketching leaves, studying their shapes and patterns closely to capture all the little details.

In English, we’re diving into the world of storytelling with “I’ll Take You to Mrs Cole’s”. We’ve explored the characters, setting, and themes, and used the story to inspire our own  writing. One of our favourite activites was creating freeze frames, helping us to think more deeply about emotions, actions and motivations before writing our own descrptive pieces.

In PE, we’ve been working on our football skills. The children have been learning how to dribble, pass and control the ball with increasing accuracy and confidence. We have also been learning the importance of working in a team, learning the importance of communication, fair play and good sportsmanship

Year 3 is all about building confidence, curiosity, and creativity. We can’t wait to see all the fantastic things our pupils will achieve this year!
